How to convert from AccountEdge to QuickBooks

Migrating from one accounting package to another can be an overwhelming task. Online tools and processes can also be cumbersome and confusing, as it will require you to do most of the work, like exporting data and manually adjusting it in Excel or another program to get it into a format that can be imported into QuickBooks.

These procedures are very time consuming and will have you switching back and forth between exporting, tweaking what has been exported, importing into QuickBooks, and re-tweaking what has been imported. Miss a step and you might find yourself starting over. Not a comfortable thought when the process takes two or three days to begin with.

E-Tech looks after all the nitty-gritty work and leaves no stone unturned with the migration process. E-Tech accesses the data directly from a copy of your MYOB file and reformats it so it can be directly entered into QuickBooks programmatically. All standard lists (customers, vendors, employees, accounts, items, shipping methods, customer messages, payment terms, categories and jobs) and the open posting transactions (unpaid invoices, unpaid bills and unused credits) are converted so you won’t be left wondering if you missed receiving a payment from a client or forgot to pay a bill. Non-posting transactions (estimates, purchase orders, and sales orders), as well as Inventory quantities and values,  are also transferred. Journal entries are then made for each fiscal year end to keep the balance sheet as well as profit and loss the same in the QB file as they were in the AccountEdge file. Multi-currency data files are also no problem.

The conversion process takes between one and two days depending on the size of your file and is not just an automated process. A professional conversion specialist will be handling the process and performing manual validations of the converted data to ensure quality. Our service is offered seven days a week so it can even be scheduled over the weekend to minimize downtime. Upon completion of the order for conversion service, a file upload account will be automatically created and an email sent with your login information to upload your file to our secure server. It is recommended that you compress your file with WinZip or WinRar prior to uploading it as a smaller file will upload much faster and avoid any timeout issues that can occur with large files.

The conversion process
Step 1: Order the conversion service. You will receive instructions to securely upload your MYOB data file.
Step 2: Locate the .MYOB file on your computer and upload it using the instructions sent to you.
Step 3: After the conversion is complete, you will receive a download link to download the converted QuickBooks data file. The QuickBooks file will open directly in QuickBooks without the need to do anything else. Also, the Balance Sheet, P&L and Trial Balance will match your MYOB data file to the penny.
